Export or Import GeoJSON

What GeoJSON preserves

GeoJSON is a portable format for spatial features such as points, lines, and polygons plus associated properties.

RanchAssist mapping tools may use it for boundaries, fence lines, routes, markers, water points, gates, and other mapped geometry.

GeoJSON versus .ra

GeoJSON is for spatial interoperability. A .ra file is for complete editable RanchAssist project restoration.

A GeoJSON file may not include scenarios, costs, tool configuration, advanced settings, project history, or other non-spatial state.

Import behavior

When a tool supports GeoJSON import, the file is user-selected and loaded into the current session. This does not create RanchAssist cloud storage.

Safety

Imported project or GeoJSON data should be treated as data, not executable code. Do not expect imported files to carry API credentials or access to external services.
