Active-session recovery
RanchAssist may use sessionStorage to protect current work from an accidental refresh, same-tab navigation, or brief interruption during the active browser session.
This is a resilience feature, not permanent storage.
What can end session recovery
Session behavior varies by browser and device. Closing the relevant browsing session, clearing browser data, using private browsing, or device/browser cleanup can remove session state.
For that reason, do not rely on session recovery as your only copy of important work.
Unsaved changes
If a tool shows Unsaved changes, create a .ra file before leaving if you want to continue later.
Before leaving a project
For meaningful work:
- Save a
.raproject file. - Export any report or data file you need for records or sharing.
- Confirm the files exist on your device.
- Then close the tool or clear the session.
